Our Thanksgiving is always really small (just us in the nuclear family). I used to be sad that the house wasn’t full and bustling with people, but now I’m looking forward to the calm — although I can basically predict word-for-word what our dinner conversation will be.

Same here. I’ve always been sort of envious of the big families with big thanksgivings, but honestly, right now I need nothing more than tomorrow’s dinner with my immediate family at a restaurant on the water that we love. (Oh yeah, we don’t even cook a real dinner at home. Last year we were in Hawaii and had a rare traditional dinner on a boat - I actually had stuffing for the first time there.)
